- More state houses
- More council houses
- Rent controls
- Long-term tenure in rental housing
- A compulsory warrant of fitness for all rental housing
Our immediate aim is to stop the government from selling
2,500 state houses in Christchurch; and we believe only the government has the
resources and capacity to build the homes needed by New Zealand families. We
also believe that Christchurch will not stand idly by while National
asset-strips the city of state homes.
We have organised a public meeting to show the government
Christchurch is strongly opposed to the sale of state houses in the city. We
intend to make it the number one issue in Christchurch in this election year.
The meeting details are:

As a wide range of groups will be speaking we politely ask
that all speakers keep their comments to a few minutes each.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you can speak as
we would like to finalise the publicity.
